Soil Not Oil Group Meeting 11/16

Sequestration of carbon into soil holds great hope for humanity. Named after the book "Soil Not Oil," our Soil Not Oil group's first priority is finding a location suitable for Sonoma Compost so it can return to Sonoma County.

This month we will be planning our group participation at the NorCal Climate Mobilization march in Oakland. See event listing on 350 Sonoma County's Facebook page:
 From the book:
"While aggravating climate change, fossil fuel-dependent industrialized, globalized agriculture is least able to adapt to the change. ...Biodiversity...offers a cushion against both climate extremes and climate uncertainty.
"Biodiverse, organic, and local food systems help mitigate climate change by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and increasing absorption of CO2 by plants and by the soil.
"In addition to reducing vulnerability and increasing resilience, biodiverse organic farming also produces more food and higher incomes."
